$20 SHOULD NEVER STAND BETWEEN AN ANIMAL AND CARE. We have trusted Animal Hospital of Montgomery with our animals for a long time. Today, we left extremely disappointed and concerned. Our cat is dealing with a painful paw problem that we believe requires immediate treatment for infection. We were presented with a more extensive course of treatment involving anesthesia, which we were not prepared to pursue at that moment. We asked about obtaining the medication to address the infection, and our understanding was that the issue came down to approximately $20. Regardless of disagreements about treatment plans, no longtime pet owner should leave a veterinary office feeling that an animal in distress went without immediate help over such a small amount of money. This is bigger than one veterinary visit. It raises a question we see throughout health care—human and animal alike: When did the ability to pay become more important than compassion? We respect veterinary professionals and understand that doctors must make medical judgments. But we also believe in transparency, compassion, reasonable options, and putting the welfare of the animal first.

Very friendly vet and front desk. No pressure tactics like some clinics, empathetic and reasonably priced.
